E-Rally in Austria Shows Off Over 20 Electric Cars In Real Driving Conditions

With the rapid growth of new electric cars being released, Germany's Auto Motor und Sport magazine (in German) decided to create an electric car rally, the E-Auto-Rallye.

With the Silvretta Classic Car Rally in Montafon, Austria already a well established event, they decided to piggyback the future with the past. Although, as editor Bernd Ostman said, there were more electric cars than diesels in the year 1900!

Mercedes made a strong showing with their Smart ED, the AMG SLS e-cell, and their fuel cell B-class. (Although it looks exactly like an A-class to me.)

It's nice to see these cars being driven, and not just displayed in a conference center with bikini models showing them off and us wondering how real they really are!
