Nissan Leaf takes it - European Car of the Year!!!

Meet the Nissan Leaf again...the first electric vehicle to earn the title of European Car of the Year in the 47 year history of the competition!!! EV's are on the rise and the Leaf has proven to at least the Europeans that it is viable and probable!

Motoring journalists from 23 countries came together as judges to decide that the worlds first production EV, the Nissan Leaf, deserved this award. The Leaf took a close victory with 257 points, while the Alfa Romeo Giuletta was a close second with 248 points and the Opel/Vauxhall Meriva took third with 244.

LEAF Production Starts October 22nd 2010

The reality of the LEAF is set in stone as Nissan has started actual production on the 22nd of October 2010 at the Oppama Plant in Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan!

This marks a first in the history of the production of the modern electric vehicle. The Oppama Plant is slotted to produce 50,000 units per year.
