The United Kingdom is part of a Smart move! 100 Smart ForTwo Electric Drive's are being doled out as trials across Britain, 60 in London proper and the South East with another 40 in the West Midlands. Funded by the Government's Technology Strategy Board, the nationwide trial is the first of its kind with over 340 vehicles being trialed on the UK roads.
Smart's parents at Daimler snapped up a 10-percent stake in Tesla last year with the aim of partnering on an EV. The result is the ForTwo Electric Drive. Coming in 2011.
