Nissan Leaf takes it - European Car of the Year!!!

Meet the Nissan Leaf again...the first electric vehicle to earn the title of European Car of the Year in the 47 year history of the competition!!! EV's are on the rise and the Leaf has proven to at least the Europeans that it is viable and probable!

Motoring journalists from 23 countries came together as judges to decide that the worlds first production EV, the Nissan Leaf, deserved this award. The Leaf took a close victory with 257 points, while the Alfa Romeo Giuletta was a close second with 248 points and the Opel/Vauxhall Meriva took third with 244.

The judges found the Leaf to be practical yet surprising, a front wheel drive 5 door hatchback with all the amenities, nearly silent with "a notorious sonic comfort" and with "abundant torque and instantaneous response" says the article.

"May the best car win" has brought electric vehicles to the forefront...may this be the mark of an era, the change and recognition EV's need to push them into commonplace!!!
